About Anna Grasse Knapp

Hello! I’m so happy you are here. Let me introduce myself…

I grew up on a family farm and left the farm to become a public school teacher–first as an English teacher and then helped run a large district’s teacher mentor and induction program. I became a wife and a mother, and returned to my family’s farm where I became a vegetable, chicken, and goat farmer for a few years. Then I realized that farming was a very lonely profession and returned to public education, this time as a special education teacher. Inclusion and helping folks with a variety of learning needs is my life. I advise students in the diversity club and the environmental club.

On the side, I became an activist for LGBTQ+ rights. I’m politically active in my community and serve on non-profit boards. I’m active in my Unitarian Universalist Church and have served on its governing board for many years.

My spiritual practices include: yoga, meditation, journaling, writing, walks in nature, and prayer. I also love regulating my energy while running or bicycling as well as gardening and textile crafts. I savor life while cooking and eating delicious food.
